|Name: Nicholas Allen Johns
Birthplace: Memphis Tenn.
Born into a musician family Nick gravitated to the drums and started playing a lot of 60's and 70's R&B and Jazz. Piano lessons ensued and, after many disagreements with his teacher about what he should be playing, he eventually moved on to the guitar and bass. He moved to Los Angeles in 2003.
Soon after his move he was contacted by Eric Gardner who told him Martha Davis needs a bass player. He loved her voice and chord structures (and they liked his hair) and after few jam sessions joined the band. Bass is what they needed at the time but today he is usually seen with The Motels playing keyboards and acoustic guitar. He also plays with the group "Silver" (heard on the WB's Smallville and One tree Hill) as well as a few other assorted bands including one back in Tennessee called "Morris Minor." In 2008 Nic could also be seen touring (and playing on the Tonight Show) with Ben Lee, http://ben-lee.com/
